About Gemma
Gemma Frances is an Aquarius sun, Leo moon, and Aries rising—so you know she’s got a vibe that’s anything but ordinary. Raised in the hills of Perth, she spent her childhood chasing fairies and mixing potions with her sisters, which might explain her lifelong pull towards the mystical.
With lived experience in chronic illness, disability, religious trauma, and complex family dynamics, Gemma has turned her challenges into fuel for her work. She’s a certified Reiki healer, medium, psychic, and soon-to-be counselor, all wrapped up in one. Her approach? Straightforward, no fluff, and full of heart. She’s the friend who’ll make you laugh, tell it like it is, and still have your back no matter what.
Clients often say Gemma brings a powerful, supportive energy—she’ll tell you the hard truths while helping you navigate your next steps because she’s been through the trenches herself. Her practice combines Reiki and talk therapy, giving you the tools to find your own answers and take control of your life.
Recently back in Mount Helena, she’s offering readings and Reiki sessions in her cozy bell tent at local markets as well as her studio set amongst the trees. And when she’s not busy with that, she’s gearing up for her first Fringe show, "Unhinged Oracle," where she’ll use her custom oracle deck to entertain and enlighten a live audience.
You might see Gemma zipping around in her pink Jimny zipping around town—on her mission to build a community for the "weird and wild at heart." If you’re ready for some real talk, good vibes, and a little magic, Gemma’s the one to book.
What’s with the bird?
The black cockatoo holds a special place in my heart, especially as someone who grew up in the hills of Perth. This majestic bird has appeared in my life as a powerful sign that the universe is watching over me, even in my darkest moments.
I’ve encountered the black cockatoo in the most unexpected places, offering solace when I felt utterly alone. I remember spotting one on a mural while I was fighting for my life in the hospital and seeing a black cockatoo sticker on the back of a ute during a solitary drive up north to clear my mind.
Now, black cockatoos grace the trees outside my home studio, and their presence never fails to lift my spirits. They remind me that I am held, loved, and seen by the universe.
